How to Make Origami Shark

Learn how to make origami shark with this easy, step by step instructions. With just a few simple folds, you can make these cute paper sharks in as many different colors as you like. You will love them!

This is an intermediate origami project. Each paper shark is made using a square sheet of pre-cut origami paper measuring 15 cm by 15cm. I used a double sided paper with different color on each side for this tutorial, but single sided paper or double sided paper with the same color on both sides is all you need as the these folded paper sharks will only show one side of the paper.

Each origami shark measures 11cm long (from head to the tip of the tail) and 5 cm wide (measured from the tip of the bottom pelvic fins to the tip of the top dorsal fin).

🧾Supplies

  • Single sheet of square origami paper (measuring 15cm by 15cm). This can be a single sided paper.

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Make the base

If you are using double sided paper, place the paper on your table, with the right side facing up. In this tutorial, I am using a double sided paper with green on one side and pink on the other. I am making a green shark, so the green side is facing up and the pink side of the paper is facing down.

Place the paper on a flat surface. The first step is to fold it towards the right corner to form a diagonal crease (images 1 and 2).

Unfold and make another diagonal fold, this time to the left upper corner (images 3 and 4).

Turn the folded paper as shown. Lift the top layer of the paper and fold it towards the top (images 5 and 6).

Unfold and repeat on the other side (images 7 and 8).

Unfold and turn the folded triangle so that the tip is pointing upwards (image 9).

Fold the paper as shown, with the height of the fold reaching the exact cross point of the earlier folds (image 10).

Unfold. And then using the fold line made in image 10 as a guide, fold the top layer of the triangle downwards as shown (image 11).

Unfold and repeat on the other side (image 12).

Unfold and take note of the folded lines as marked by the black dotted lines (image 13).

Press the center for a neat fold. And then fold it to the side (image 15).

Turn the paper over and repeat the steps from images 11 to 15 (image 16). Make sure the flaps on both sides are folded in the same direction, i.e. to the left.

Next, unfold the shape from the top. This is how it should look like (images 17 and 18).

Turn the paper over and fold the sides as shown on both ends (images 19 and 20).

Step 2: Shape the fin

Turn the shape over (image 21). And then fold it as shown, taking note to make sure you see the 2 small triangle sections underneath the folds (image 22).

Unfold the triangle and then fold the tip as shown (images 23 and 24).

Unfold and repeat on the other side of the tip (images 25 and 26).

Unfold and using the folded lines as a guide, fold the tip as shown (image 27) and the fold the entire folded paper into 2 as shown (image 28).

This is how the shape should look like (image 29). Place in on a flat surface and lift the top layer from the bottom. Fold it as shown (image 30).

Step 3: Shape the body

This is how it should look like (image 31). And then fold the entire shape into 2 (image 32).

Once folded, flip the shape horizontally as shown (images 33 and 34).

Lift the flap on the right and fold it to the left side (images 35 and 36).

Unfold and then fold towards the folded line made in image 36 above (images 37 and 38).

After that, fold again to the left as shown in image 39. Turn the shape over and repeat the steps in images 35 to 39 (image 40).

Next, lift the top folded layer and fold it as shown (images 41 and 42).

Unfold, and refold in the opposite direction to tuck the fold as shown (images 43 and 44).

Turn the shape over and repeat the previous step in images 41 to 44 (images 45 and 46).

Step 4: Fold the face

To shape the face of the paper shark, lift the shape open from the bottom as shown in image 47.

Fold the tip as shown in image 48.

Refold the paper and press well (images 49 and 50).

Step 5: Shape the tail

Flip the shape vertically. Fold the paper along the line as shown (images 51 and 52).

Unfold and open the folded section. Shape as shown in image 53 and then fold it down the center line (images 53 and 54).

Fold the triangle flap upwards as shown and then unfold and open up the tail section. Fold the tail as shown (images 55 and 56).

Fold the tail along the center line and this is how it should look like (image 57).

Unfold, open up the tail section and press the unfolded section down (image 59) and press the tail together. Place the shark on a flat surface and open up the tip of the tail as shown in image 60).

Refold the tip. Using the folded line as a guide, fold the tail as shown along the black dotted line (images 61 and 62).

Unfold, turn the shark over and repeat on the opposite side of the tail (image 63).

Next, lift the shark and separate the first fold with your finger as shown (image 64).

And then lift the flap on the bottom section and fold it down in the opposite direction as shown (image 66).

And the fold it again as shown (image 67).

Press the tail together in the middle part (image 68).

This is how the tail should look like (image 69).

Step 6: Shape the fin

The last fold is to shape the dorsal fin. Press the top flap at the top part of shark as shown and then fold it down the center crease line (images 70 and 71).

Step 7: Draw the eyes and mouth

And finally, use a black pen or fine tipped marker to draw the googly eyes and mouth for the shark (on both sides).

And that completes the origami shark craft. Happy folding!

Expert tips

  • Use a square paper. The measurement of the paper must be exactly the same on all sides. I used 15cm by 15cm. Larger squares will be easier to fold compared to smaller ones. If you are making the shark for the first time, it is recommended to use a 20cm by 20cm sized square origami paper.
  • Press the folds well. Make sure to press the folds well each time as some parts of the folded paper shark will be slightly thicker and if not pressed well, will be difficult to achieve neat folds.
  • Single color paper. This is a single colored origami craft (unlike my origami koi fish here which is dual colored). You can also use a single sided paper.  
  • Use thin paper. Origami paper is the best, but you can also use any regular paper like color paper or wrapping paper so long as it is thin. Avoid thicker paper as it will make it difficult to fold especially at the tip of the tail.

How to Make Origami Dragonfly

Learn how to make origami dragonfly with this easy step by step tutorial and video guide. With just a few simple folds, you can make these traditional origami dragonfly paper crafts in under 10 minutes!

This is an intermediate origami project. The dragonflies are made using a square sheets of pre-cut origami paper measuring 15 cm by 15cm. I used a double sided paper with different color on each side, but single sided paper is all you need as the completed paper dragonflies will only show one side of the paper.

Each origami duck measures 11cm long (from head of the dragonfly to the tip of the tail) and 10 cm wide (measured from one end of the wings to the other end on the other side of the dragonfly).

🧾Supplies

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Make the base

If you are using double sided paper, place the paper on your table, with the right side facing down. In this tutorial, I am using a double sided paper with yellow on one side and red on the other. I am making a yellow dragonfly, so the yellow side is facing down and the red side of the paper is facing up.

First step is to fold the paper by bringing the opposite corners of the square sheet together. With the red side facing up, fold the paper diagonally by bringing the bottom edge on the right to the top left corner. Make sure the corners are aligned (images 1 and 2).

Unfold (image 3).

Fold it diagonally again, this time by bringing the top right edge to the bottom left corner (image 4).

Unfold (image 5). Next, fold the paper into 2 horizontally (image 6).

Unfold (image 7). Fold it into 2, vertically (image 8).

Unfold (image 9). Turn the paper in as shown in the diagram (image 10).

Next, fold the paper out along the lines shown, first inwards (image 11) and then outwards (image 12).

Repeat on the other side of the square. First fold in inwards along the line as shown (images 13 and 14).

And then fold outwards, following the dotted line (image 15). The folded paper should form a square (image 16).

Step 2: Fold the body

Press the folds firmly (image 17).

Lift the top layer of the paper from the bottom and fold as shown (image 18).

Repeat on the left side. Next, fold the top triangle, and then unfold (image 19 and 20).

Turn the folded paper over (image 21) and fold the sides as shown in image 22.

This is how it should look like (image 23). Unfold both sides (image 24).

Lift the paper from the bottom and fold it along the horizontal folded line shown (images 25 and 26).

Refold the sides to form a diamond shape (images 27 and 28).

Fold the diamond by bringing the top and bottom points of the diamond together (image 29). This is how it should look like after folding (image 30).

Turn the paper over (images 31 and 32). Unfold the sides.

Lift the bottom right flap and fold as shown in image 34.

Repeat with the left flap (image 35).

And then, unfold the right flap (36).

Lift the right side of the diamond shape. Fold refold the bottom flap following the folded lines earlier (images 37 and 38).

Press the folds firmly as shown in images 39 and 40.

Repeat on the left side (image 41). The folded paper should look like a star as shown in image 42.

Turn the star such that the top pointy end is positioned at the bottom and vice versa (image 43 and 44).

Fold the bottom part of the star as shown (image 45). 

Lift the side and bring the pointy end to the center of the star (image 46).

Press the fold down firmly (image 47).

Next, press the small flap as shown (image 48).

This is how the fold should look like (image 49). Finally, adjust the fold so that it is aligned to the center line of the star (image 50).

Repeat the process with the other side. This is how the shape should look like (image 52).

Step 3: Fold the wings

Next, flip the paper over. And then turn in around so that the top pointy end moves to the bottom, vice versa (image 53).

Start with the bottom (image 55), followed by the flap. Press down firmly (image 56).

Repeat with the other side. This is how it should look like. Turn the shape around (images 57 and 58).

Hold it as shown (image 59).

Fold it along the center line to bring the wings together (image 60).

Fold the tip of each wing (image 61). Unfold, open up the folded tips (image 62).

Tuck the tips inside along the folded lines (image 63). Repeat for other side of the wing.

Next, cut each wing into 2 (image 64).

Bring the wings together by folding the body of the dragonfly (image 66).

Step 4: Shape the head and eyes

To make the head, press the pointy end of the shape as shown (images 67 and 68).

Use a toothpick to roll the piece all the way to the center (images 69 and 70).

Remove the toothpick and press the rolled section lightly to hold it in place (image 71).

Next is shaping the wings. Keeping the body of the dragonfly folded, fold the wings to the side.

Start with the top flap. Fold and aligh both sides of the flap to align them.

Repeat with the bottom flaps. Leave a slight gap between the top and bottom flap when folding them (image 72).

Step 5: Shape the tail

Press the folds firmly to hold the shape of the wings (image 73).

To shape the tail, press along the folds firmly and curve the end slightly (image 74).

And that completes the origami dragonfly (image 75). You can stop here and use the origami dragonfly as intended.

To keep the body of the dragonfly well folded and to keep the head closely attached to the body, you can use glue.

Spread a thin layer of glue as shown and press the sides of the body as well as the head to stick them together (image 76).

Expert tips

  • Use a square paper. The measurement of the paper must be exactly the same on all sides. I used 15cm by 15cm. Larger squares will make larger dragonflies and smaller ones will make smaller dragonflies.

  • Any type of paper will work for this craft so long as it can be folded and is firm enough to hold the shape. I used pre-cut origami paper, you can always make these dragonflies in any other craft paper or even wrapping paper.

These hair bows are crocheted with DK weight yarn. The thinner gauge of the yarn gives these cute little bows a lacey look and a more defined shape. Each bow is made up of a row of 10 basic chain stitches and 11 repeat row of double crochets. And the completed bows measure approximately 3cm by 5cm each. 

To turn them into hair accessories, they are attached to hair clips and hair bands by wrapping and stitching the excess yarn to the accessories.

  • DK weight yarn
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook (you can use a larger hook size if you are more comfortable with one)

✂️How to make the mini crochet hair bows

Make a slip knot and ch 10 (image 1).

Row 1: Starting in the forth ch from hook, work one dc in each st. You will be making 7 dc (images 2 & 3).

Rows 2 - 11: Turn over. Ch 1. Work one dc into 2nd stitch from hook (the 2nd stitch should be the first dc in the row below). Repeat to make 11 rows of dc altogether (image 4).

Ch 1 and turn over. Make 7 sl st to join the shorter ends of the rectangle (image 5).

Ch 1 and leaving a long piece of tail yarn, cut off the remaining yarn. Fasten (image 6).

Insert the starting tail yarn into a tapestry needle. Insert into the stitches and cut off the excess (images 7 & 8). 

Insert the ending tail yarn into the needle.

Position the joint ends of the crocheted loop in the center (image 9).

Fold the crochet piece into 2 horizontally and run the tapestry needle though it in the center (image 10).

Pull the yarn tightly and wrap around the middle of the crochet piece to form a bow shape (images 11 & 12).

Tightly wrap yarn around the center of the bow a few more times and make a simple knot at the back of the bow by looping the yarn over the needle (image 13). 

That completes the little crochet bow, but do not fasten and cut off the excess yarn as yet. You will be needing it to attach the bow to the hair clips, ties and bands.

⭐How to attach the bows to hair accessories

Design 1: Crochet bow snap clip

Make the crochet bow as per the steps above. Leave a long tail of yarn to attach the bow to the clip.

Step 1: Hold the clip against the back of the bow (image 14).

Step 2: Wrap the excess yarn around the center of the bow and through the 2 holes at the top of the clip (image 15).

Step 3: Next, make a few stiches on the sides of the clip and the crochet bow to secure the clip well in place and to make sure it does not move (image 16). 

Step 4: Wrap the yarn a few more times around the bow through holes in the clip.

Step 5: Fasten and run the yarn across the stitches in the bow a few times before trimming off the excess (image 17). And that completes the snap clip.

Design 2: Crochet bow hair band

Make the crochet bow as per the tutorial above. Leave a long tail of yarn for attaching to the hair band.

Step 1: Hold the hair band against the back of the bow (image 18).

Note: Determine the position of the bow before you start stitching it to the hair band.

Step 2: Wrap the excess yarn around the middle of the bow and the hair band underneath it. And then use the remaining yarn to make a few wraps on the hair band, on both the sides (image 19).

Step 3: Fasten the thread on each side with a few simple knots by looping the yarn over the needle and pulling the needle through (image 20).

Step 4: Fasten, thread the remaining yarn into a few stitches in the bow and cut off the excess (image 21). 

Design 3: Crochet bow hair barrette

Make the crochet bow as per the tutorial above. Leave a long tail of yarn for attaching to the barrette.

Step 1: Remove the center piece metal bar from the clip (image 22).

Note: Removing the bar will make it much easier to stich the bow to the clip.

Step 2: Open the clip and hold it to the back of the bow, making sure it is perfectly centered on the bow.

Step 3: Wrap the excess yarn a few times around the bow and the clip (image 23).

Step 4: Thread the needle into the center of the bow to hold the yarn (image 24). And then thread the yarn to the end of the clip.

​Step 5: Stitch the end of the clip to the bow (image 25). 

Note: Make sure to check the position of the bow and the clip are well centered before stitching.

Step 6: Run the needle to the other end of the bow and repeat the stitches (images 26 & 27).

Step 7: Fasten the yarn and run the thread through the crochet stitches on the bow a couple of times and cut off the excess (image 28).

Step 8: ​Insert the metal bar removed earlier back into the clip to complete the barrette (image 29).

Design 4: Crochet bow hair tie

Make the crochet bow as per the tutorial above. Leave a long tail of yarn for attaching to the hair tie.

Step 1: Place the hair tie at the back of bow and use the excess yarn to wrap tightly round the bow once or twice and then make a few simple knots by wrapping the yarn around the needle and pulling it through (images 30 & 31).

Step 2: Continue wrapping a few more times. Use the needle to run the yarn though the bow (image 32).

Step 3: Thread the yarn to the sides and make a few stitches to hold the hair tie to the bow. Repeat on the other side of the bow as well (image 33).

Step 4: Fasten with a simple knot and run the thread across a few crochet stiches before trimming off the excess to complete the hair tie (images 34 & 35).

Design 5: Crochet bow alligator clip

Make the crochet bow as per the tutorial above. Leave a long tail of yarn for attaching to the hair band.

Step 1: This clip is made with a slightly larger, medium size crochet hair bow. Make the bow with 12 starting chains and 15 rows of double crochet (image 36).

Step 2: Shape the piece into a bow (refer to the tutorial above).

Step 3: Hold the alligator clip to the back of the bow. Make sure it is well centered. Press the clip open and wrap the excess yarn around the bow and the clip a few times tightly (image 37).

Step 4: ​Fasten the yarn and run it through the bow a few times before trimming off the excess yarn (images 38 & 39). 

💡Tips:

  • To make a medium sized or slightly larger bow (like the one used to make the crochet alligator clip above, make the bow with 12 starting chains and 15 row counts of double crochet. To make an even larger or bigger bow, increase the number of starting chains to 15 and the number of double crochet rows to 22. Larger bows can be attached to larger, full sized hair barrette clips.
  • If you find it difficult to hold the hair accessories when attaching the bows, you can use hot glue to stick them to the accessories (except for hair ties). Wait until the glue dries and the stitch them.

Looking for easy crochet bow pattern with tails? Here is a free tutorial for you. Made using basic stitches of chains and single crochets, these bow is fairly quick and easy to make.

You can use the pattern to make adorable bows in different sizes by simply changing the thickness of your yarn and by reducing or increasing the number of stitches and rows.

This bow is adapted from my basic 'how to crochet a bow' tutorial. I have increased the size of the bow and added long tails to it. This design works great as a hair bow (by attaching the bow to hair accessories like a hair tie or a french barette with hot glue or simple stitches). It can also be used as a fun craft project or gift bows.

You can also use this pattern to make a bow tie by omitting the tails.

The bow is made using medium weight yarn (you can use any worsted weight yarns). It consists of 3 parts i.e. the main bow part, the tails part and the center part.  

The first part is made up of a row of 20 chain stitches and continued with 8 row counts of single crochets. The second part, i.e. the tails is made up of a row of 35 chain stitches and 6 rows of single crochets. The third part which is the center tie for the bow is made up of a row of 12 chains and 2 rows of single crochets. 

Each completed bow measures 10.5cm by 10cm (with tails) at the widest and longest parts. The final size of the bow will depend on the yarn weight and tension of the yarn used as well as the hook size.

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Crochet the main part of the bow.

Row 1: Work 1 sc in the second st from hook (image 2). Continue with one sc in each st until the end of the row. You should have 19 sc. Ch 1(image 3).

Row 2: Turn over. Work 1 sc in each stitch. You should have 19 sc. Ch 1.

Rows 3 - 8: Repeat row 2 (image 4).

Ch 1. Remove the hook and cut the yarn leaving a long tail for finishing (image 5). Pull the yarn to fasten. Set aside. Thread the extra yarn at the slip knot into a tapestry needle. Stich it through a few stitches and cut off the excess.

Step 2: Crochet the tail piece.

Row 1: Work 1 sc in the second chain from hook. Continue with one sc in each ch st until the end of the row. You should have 34 sc. Ch 1.

Row 2: Turn over. Work one sc in each stitch. You should have 34 sc. Ch 1.

Rows 3 – 6: Repeat row 2.

Ch 1. Remove the hook and cut the yarn. Leave a long tail for finishing. Pull yarn to fasten and set aside.

Thread the extra yarn at the slip knot into a tapestry needle. Stich it through a few stitches and cut off the excess (image 6).

Step 3: Crochet the center piece.

Make a slip knot and ch 12.

Row 1: Work 1 sc in the second chain from hook. Continue with one sc in each ch until the end of the row. You should have 11 sc. Ch 1.

Row 2: Turn over. Work one sc in each stitch. You should have 11 sc.

Ch 1. Remove the hook and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for finishing. Pull yarn to fasten and set aside.

Thread the extra yarn at the slip knot into a tapestry needle. Stich it through a few stitches and cut off the excess (image 7).

You should have 3 crocheted pieces as shown in image 8:

Step 4: Stitch the bow.

Start with the main part of the bow. Thread the tail yarn into a tapestry needle.
Fold the crocheted piece into 2 and mark the center with a stitch marker (image 9).

Fold the piece again, this time horizontally, into a ‘w’ to form a bow shape (image 11).

Stitch the folds with the needle and yarn twice (image 12).

Wrap the excess yarn around the middle of the bow to tighten the folds and wrap yarn around the needle to fasten with a simple knot. Thread the excess yarn though a few stitches at the side and trim off the excess (image 13).

Step 5: Add the tails.

Mark the center of the rectangle with a stitch marker. Unfold and thread the needle through the crochet stitches to the center point. Remove the marker.
Next, fold the tail piece horizontally and stitch twice to hold the fold (image 14).

Place the folded tail piece at the back of the bow and stitch together (image 15). Fasten and trim off excess yarn by running it through a few stitches on the bow.

Step 6: Add the centerpiece.

Thread the tail yarn of the center piece into the needle. Place the center piece of the bow at the front of the bow. Wrap it around the middle of the bow and bring both ends to the back (image 16).

Thread the yarn toward the bottom of the bow and place 2 stiches to bring the tails of the bow together to the middle (image 18).

Finally, thread it through a few stitches and cut off the end of the yarn (image 19).

Tips

  • To make a larger bow, increase the number of starting chains and then increase the number of rows of stitches. 
  • To make smaller bow, you can reduce the number of starting chains and the number of rows, accordingly. You can also make smaller bows by using thinner yarn  without adjusting the number of stitches and rows.

These bows are made using medium weight yarn (worsted weight yarn) and each bow measures 6cm by 3cm (at widest points).  You can easily make these adorable bows in different sizes (larger bow or smaller bow) by simply adjusting the number of starting chains, rows of stitches or type of yarn.

First part:

Note: You can do it by counting the stitches and identifying the center-most stitch or fold the piece into 2 and mark it with a stitch marker.

And then fold both edges towards the center to form a 'w' (image 10).

Run the needle through the folds right in the center mark. Pull tightly and then run the needle again in the opposite direction to hold the folds (image 11).

With the remaining extra yarn, wrap the bow tightly. To fasten, insert the needle into a stitch (at the back of the bow) halfway. Wrap yarn around it. Pull the needle out to form a simple knot (image 12).

Row 2: Turn over and work 1 sc into second stitch from hook. Continue with one sc in each stitch until the end (image 15) .

Ch 1, remove the hook and and cut the yarn leaving a long tail for fastening and finishing.

Insert the starting excess yarn (at the slip knot) into the tapestry needle. Thread it through a few stitches and cut off the excess yarn (image 17).

Next, insert the ending yarn into the needle. Place the crocheted piece on a flat surface. Place the bow on top, in the middle. The back of the bow should be facing up (image 18).

Wrap the bow center to the back of the bow. Stitch both ends tightly (image 19). 

Make a simple knot by inserting the needle into a stitch and wrapping the yarn around it before pulling to fasten.

Thread the remaining yarn into a few stitches on the bow before trimming off the excess (image 20). 

And that completes the easy crochet bow.

Tips

  • To make these bows in a thinner yarn, you can use DK weighted yarn. With the exact same stitch count, the bows made with thinner yarn will be smaller in size. You can also use cross stitch yarn to make these bows. Use a smaller hook.
  • To make larger bows with the same worsted weight yarn (about the size of a bow tie), increase the number of starting chains to 20 (for the main part of the bow). Also increase the number of single crochet rows to 8. Test by pinching the center of the rectangle into a bow shape. Add more rows of single crochets if you want a bigger bow, or until you are satisfied with the size of the bow. To make the centerpiece for a larger bow, increase the number of starting chains to 12. Maintain 2 rows of single crochets.
  • To make smaller bows, reduce the number of starting chains and number of single crochet rows accordingly, depending on the size of the bow you wish to make.
  • When making smaller bows, you can also omit making the center piece and simply wrap the center of your bow with the excess yarn from the main bow. Make sure to leave extra length of yarn for the wrapping. Fasten with a knot at the back of the bow and run the excess yarn into a few stiches on the bow before trimming off the excess end of the yarn.

How to Make Beaded Tassel Earrings (Black & Gold)

Learn how to make beaded tassel earrings with this easy jewelry making tutorial. Made using dainty seed beads in black, bronze and gold, these earrings are not just pretty, they are easy to make too.

Each tassel is made up of 10 strands of seed bead dangles with each strand measuring approximately 5cm. The tassel strands are tied together to an eye pin and  inserted into a lacey bead cap. The top of the tassel is adorned with a gold bead and hooped into a matching gold earring hook. Each completed earring measures approximately 7.5cm in length. These earrings are perfect for casual wear (daily wear) and are equally great for special occasions too.

​✂️How to Make

Step 1: Make the bead tassels. Measure and cut 2 strands of thread measuring 70cm each. You will be using 2 strands for each earring.

Note: Cutting the thread into 2 instead of using a single long strand will prevent it from tangling as you work on threading the beads. You can also cut the thread into 4 strands if that is easier for you to work with. For each strand, give an extra allowance of at least 20cm of thread for the needle and easy handling.

​Tie the end of the first strand to an eye pin (image 1). Make 2 knots and test by pulling it to make sure it does not come off. Cut off the shorter excess thread.

Insert the other end of the strand of thread into the beading needle (image 2).

Thread 15 black seed beads and push them to the end of the thread tied to the eye pin (image 3).

Next, insert one bronze bead, followed by 1 black bead, 2 bronze beads and 1 black bead again (image 4).

​Continue with 5 bronze beads (image 5).

Next, add one gold bead, followed by 1 bronze bead, 2 gold beads and 1 bronze bead. Complete the strand with 5 gold beads (image 6).

Loop back to the start of the bead strand by inserting the needle into the second last gold bead on the strand (image 7) and threading it through all the beads in the strand all the way back to the first bead (image 8). 

Note: It is important that you skip the last bead in the strand when looping back to the top. If you don't, the beads will all fall off.

Insert the needle into the eye pin from the bottom (image 9).

Making a knot with thread.

Loop the beading thread over the needle once (image 10) and pull the needle to make a simple knot on the eye pin. This knot will lock the beads in the strand. This completes the first strand.

Repeat the beading process for the next 3 or 4 strands, depending on the length of the thread available (image 11). Fasten with a knot at the end of each strand.

To replace the thread with a new strand for the remaining bead tassels, fasten the existing one well. To fasten the thread, insert the needle into the eye pin from the bottom. Hold it half way in the pin and loop the thread around the needle and pull to make a knot (similar to the knots made after each strand in the steps earlier).

Repeat to make another 4 knots. Finally, thread through a few beads in the last strand (image 12) and cut off the excess thread (image 13).

To start with the next strand of thread, tie it to the eye pin with 2 knots in the same way as the first strand.

Thread the beads and make the remaining tassels (image 14) until you have 10 strands of beads for each earring. Fasten the thread and trim the excess thread off.

Step 2: Apply craft glue or hot glue. To prevent the strands from coming off the eye pin, apply a small dot of glue to block the gaps in the eye pin loops (image 15).

Step 3: Attach the bead cap. Insert the eye pin to the bead cap (image 16).

Step 4: Insert the gold bead (image 17).

Step 5: Hoop the eye pin. Pull the eye pin to hold the tassel closely in the bead cap and loop the eye pin (image 18). Try not to leave any gap to prevent the bottom of the eye pin from showing outside the bead cap.

Step 6: Attach the ear wire. To complete the earrings, use a flat nosed plier to open the loop of the ear wire (image 19).

Insert the tassel into the ear wire (image 20) and close the loop (image 21).

Note: When opening the loop, push it side ways instead of in opposite direction to not distort the shape of the loop. 

Repeat the above steps to make the second earring.

Options:

  • Color combination - you can change the color combination of these tassel earrings to your own choice. For a lighter colored pair of earrings, you can make white tassel earrings by replacing the black beads with white beads. You can also make pink tassel earrings or blue tassel earrings or in any other color you like by simply replacing the black beads with a color of your choice. You can also make these earrings in silver combination instead of gold. To do that, replace all gold elements in the earrings to silver.
  • Beading patterns - I used 3 different colors of beads and each color transitions to the next gradually. You can use a different beading pattern as you like so long as the number of beads used in each strand is the same.
  • Strand length  - If you wish make longer tassels, increase the number of beads used in each strand.
  • Bead type and size - I used 2mm seed beads to make these beaded pair of earrings. Using larger beads will make the tassels bulky and you will require a larger bead cap to fit the top of the bead strands.

Tips

  • Use a cloth to line your work space. This will prevent beads from rolling off easily.
  • If you find it difficult to work with long strands of thread at a time, cut them shorter and simply add more strands as the thread is used up.
  • The bead tassels for earrings are best made with small beads. Large beads will make bulky tassels.
  • Make sure the needle is thin enough to pass through the beads.
  • Use thread color that is close to the beads so that it does not show, especially on the last bead of each strand.

All three strands are joined with a jump ring at each end and attached to a lobster clasp. This is a medium length multi layer necklace with the longest strand (third strand) measuring 60cm, the middle strand (second strand) at 55cm and the shortest (first strand) measuring 42cm. With these lengths, the longest strands ends at the chest, while the shortest strand sits slightly below the base of the neck.

  • Metallic blue glass beads (29 beads measuring 8mm in diameter)
  • Metallic blue glass beads (26 beads measuring 3mm in diameter) 
  • Freshwater pearl beads (8 beads measuring 8mm in diameter)
  • Clear white glass beads (16 beads measuring 3mm in diameter)
  • Eye pins in gold metal (17 pins measuring 25mm each and 4 pins measuring 50mm)

  • Gold link chain (50cm in length)

✂️How to Make

To make the necklace, you start by making each layer separately and then join them together. Begin with the seed bead necklace, followed by the link chain with pendant and finally the pearl and crystal glass bead link layer.

Step 1: Make the seed bead necklace strand. Measure and cut the beading thread to 60cm. 

Note: The finished seed bead necklace is 42cm. The extra beading wire is for easy handling of the beading process. Use a shorter length if you are comfortable working with shorter wire.

Next, insert a crimp bead or crimp tube (image 2). Hold the bead about 1 cm away from the end of the wire.

Check to make sure it is tight and trim off excess wire (image 4).

Hold the other end of the wire and insert it into the hole of a beading needle. Thread the seed beads until they make a 42 cm strand of beads (images 6 & 7). 

Note: When measuring the strand, only measure the beads and do not include the knot cover.

Next, insert the second knot cover. Push it open until flat (image 8). Insert a crimp bead.

Lift the wire to make sure there is no gap between the beads. With the crimp bead positioned close to the knot cover and the last seed bead in the strand, crimp it tight with pliers (image 9). Test to make sure it is secure and trim off excess wire.

Close the knot cover (image 10). Set the strand aside (image 11).

Step 2: Make the link chain with pendant. Measure the gold link chain to 50cm. Cut with a pair of wire cutters.

Step 3: Make the pearl and blue beads link chain.

Insert a 3mm small blue bead into a 50mm eye pin (image 16). Follow with five 8mm large blue beads. End with another small blue bead.

Use a round nose plier to form a loop at the end of the eye pin (image 17).

Repeat the process to make another 3 sets of wired beads.

Next, insert a small 3mm blue bead into a 25mm eye pin. Follow with an 8mm large blue bead and another 3mm blue bead (image 19).

Loop the end with a plier and twist the loops at both ends to align (image 20). Repeat the above steps to make another 8 sets.

To make the pearl wired beads, insert a 3mm clear white crystal bead into a 25mm eye pin. Follow with the pearl bead and top it with another 3mm clear white bead (image 21).

Loop the ends and align the loops (image 22). Repeat the process to make another 7 sets.

To join the bead links, open 20 jump rings. Insert a blue 3-bead link and a pearl-bead link into the first jump ring. Close the ring (image 23).

Insert an open jump ring into the other end of the pearl bead link. Add a blue 3-bead link into the same jump ring and close the ring (image 24).

Step 4: Assemble the necklace. Open 4 jump rings. Insert the end of the strands into the jump rings, one end into each jump ring.

Start with the seed bead strand, followed by the gold link chain and then the bead link chain (image 26). Repeat the same order at the other end. Keep the order of the strands consistent on both sides.

To insert the clasp, insert another jump ring to one of necklace ends. Add the clasp and close the ring. Add the last jump ring to the other end of the necklace (image 27). And that completes the necklace.

Options

  • Color combination - You can change the colors of the blue beads and seed beads to a different color combination if you like.
  • Size / gauge of the gold link chain - change the link chain to a thinner chain if you prefer.
  • Necklace length - adjust the length by making longer strands for a longer necklace and shorter strands for a shorter necklace. Make sure the length of each strand is adjusted consistently.

Tips

  • Use same metal color - for best results, make sure the metal color used in making the necklace is same across each strand, including the eye pins, jump rings, knot covers, link chain and the frame for the teardrop pendant. I used gold, and you can change it to silver or antique gold if you like.
  • Size of the beads - use larger beads for bottom strand and smaller ones for the top for a more balanced layered look.
  • Colors of the beads - use bead colors that are complementing each other.  
  • Arrange the beads and each strand in the shape of a necklace to determine the pattern and length before making the necklace - you can use a bead design board or simply arrange them on a piece of large cloth (to prevent the beads from rolling) to determine the the length of each layer so that they are consistently layered and do not overlap.

DIY Beaded Hoop Earrings with Rose Quartz

These DIY beaded hoop earrings make very sweet, pretty and elegant earrings. Learn how to transform plain wire hoops into a gorgeous pair of rose quartz hoop earrings with this easy DIY earrings tutorial.

These are small hoop earrings made using gold metal hoops (measuring 2.5cm in diameter) and a combination of 3 different types of beads - rose quartz semi-precious stones, gold metal seed beads and pink crystal teardrop beads.

The rose quartz beads are threaded into the hoops alternately with gold seed beads and also added as a dangle in the center of the hoop. The crystal teardrop beads are hooked into a gold headpin each and attached as dangles to the bottom of the hoops. Each earring is attached to a gold beaded earring hook.

The earrings measure approximately 6.5cm from top to bottom and 3cm wide (diameter of the beaded hoops).

🧾Tools and supplies

Teardrop beads, rose quartz chip beads, earring hooks, earring hoops, headpins and gold seed beads against a white background.
  • Rose quartz chip beads (32 beads, i.e. 16 for each earring). The chips can vary in sizes. Choose consistently-sized beads with slightly smaller ones for the top and larger ones for the bottom of the hoop).
  • Gold metal seed beads (16 beads measuring 3mm in diameter each)
  • 2 gold hoop earrings (measuring 2.5cm in diameter).
  • 2 earring hooks (ear wires) in gold metal.
  • 4 headpins (2 measuring 2.5cm and another 2 measuring 3cm) – you can use all 4 headpins in 3cm and cut off the excess wire with a pair of wire cutters.
  • Flat nose pliers.
  • Round nose pliers.

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Pick the beads. Chip beads are not of the same shape. Sometimes the sizes can vary quite significantly. Choose 24 chips that are the closest in size and another 8 in slightly smaller size.

Step 2: Make the rose quartz dangles. Insert 2 of the larger beads into a 2.5cm headpin (images 1 and 2).

Loop the wire halfway with a round nose plier but do not close the loop completely (images 3 & 4).

Insert the half closed loop into the hole below the earring hook hole (image 5). Close the wire loop with the pliers (image 6) .

Repeat to make another dangle and attach to the other hoop.

Step 3: Make the crystal teardrop dangles.

Next, insert the crystal bead, followed by another gold seed bead (image 8).

Close the dangle with a loop (image 9).

Repeat to make another crystal dangle and set aside.

Step 4: Thread beads into the hoop. Open the hoop by pulling it out gently from the closure (image 10). Once the side of the hoop is released, you will have to push the hoop open side ways instead of in opposite direction to preserve the shape of your hoops.

Note: Typically, only one end of the wire can be released from the closure. Check by pulling each side gently to see which one can be released. In pulling the sides of the hoops, be very gentle, you only want to release it from the closure. And never ever try to pull ends of the hoop in the opposite direction to insert beads. It will distort the shape of the hoop.

To insert the beads, start with 2 of the slightly smaller quartz beads (out of 8 picked earlier)(image 11).

Next, insert a gold bead (image 12).

Repeat with 2 more sets of quartz and gold beads (image 13). Push the beads to the end of the hoop.

Insert the crystal dangle (image 15), followed by another quartz bead.

Note: Make sure the crystal dangle is right in the center (at a 180 degree angle from the top of the earring). If not, change the beads to slightly thicker or thinner ones depending on the position of the dangle.

Add a gold bead. Repeat with 2 more sets of quartz and gold beads. Finally, add 2 of the remaining 6 smaller quartz beads (image 16).

Step 5: Close the hoop. Once the beads are all threaded in, gently pull the end of the earring hoop and insert it into the closure (image 17).

Repeat the process for the other hoop.

Step 6: Attach the earring wire. Open the loop at the end of the hook (image 18).

Insert it into the hole at the top of the hoop (image 19).

Options

  • Metal type: To make silver earrings, replace the gold hoops with silver hoops and use silver bead accents instead of gold.
  • Type of beads: Rose quartz chips can be replaced with other semi precious beads like black obsidian, amethyst or lapis. Alternatively, you can also make the earrings with crystal beads like in these handmade beaded hoop earrings. Or you can make a colorful pair of DIY hoop earrings with a rainbow array of seed beads. Just make sure the thickness of your wire is able to fit the holes of the small beads.
  • Number of beads: Decrease the number of chip beads used if you do not want to make a full hoop of beads.
  • Size of hoops: If you prefer larger hoop earrings, use a larger hoop. Increase the number of rose quartz and gold bead sets accordingly.

Tips

  • When choosing the metal color, it is always better to use the same color throughout the earrings. For example, if you choose silver hoops, use silver accent beads instead of gold for a more cohesive design.
  • When working with beads, it is advisable to line your workspace with a piece of cloth. This will prevent the beads from rolling off your table.
  • Choose the semi precious chip beads of the closest size to one another as these tend to vary noticeably sometimes.

How To Put On Hoop Earrings and How To Remove Them Securely

Hoop earrings are timeless jewelry. They are very versatile and fashionable and can be styled in many different ways. While they come in various sizes, materials and designs, one common challenge for many first time or new wearers is figuring out how to put on hoop earrings and how to take them off comfortably. Follow this guide for simple and useful tips for wearing hoop earrings effortlessly.

Types of Hoop Earrings

Pierced vs clip ons - The most common type of hoop earrings are for pierced ears. These require ear piercings and the hoops (or earring posts) are often inserted into the piercings. Clip ons are typically for non-pierced ears. They consist of a hinge or spring-loaded backing mechanism that provides a secure grip to the ear without the need for piercing. 

Size and shape (diameter of the hoops) -  Hoop earrings come is many different sizes. You can find them in large hoops or as little hoops known as huggie earrings or huggie hoop earrings ( these are with a small diameter so they appear to be hugging the earlobes). Shapes can vary from rounds, ovals and squares.

Thickness - This refers to the tube of the hoop. Some are thick and some as thin and dainty. Some are solid and some are hollow. 

Make or material - You can find hoops in solid gold, rose gold, sterling silver and other types of metals.

Type of closure or clasp - There are generally 2  types of hoop closures or clasps.

The first type are those with specifically attached hinged closures or clasps like snap closures, latch back or lever back closures (image 1).

Others do not have specifically attached clasps such as the wire-loop earrings (image 2) and infinity hoops (also known as endless hoop earrings)(image 3).

Wire-loop earrings consist of a single strand of thin wire that is shaped into a hoop and has a small loop on one end and 90 degrees bent latch at the tip of the other end. The latch is inserted into the loop to secure the earring to the ears. See my beaded hoop earring which are made using wire loops.

Infinity earrings, also known as endless hoops or infinite hoops, also do not have separate visual clasp. To close the hoop, the post is inserted into the other end of the hoop (which is hollow to allow the post to fit in and form a seamless hoop). These are often the most trickiest to put on.

How to Put On (Step by Step)

Step 1: Familiarize with the earring closure. Depending on the type of closure your hoop earrings have, test them before putting on how it works. Common closures include hinged snap closures, latch-back closures, lever back closures.

Step 2: Make sure the earring post can fit your piercings. Some posts can be thick and might not fit the hole in your earlobes. 

Note: Stand in front of a mirror. This will help greatly in positioning the post into your piercing.

Step 3: Open the hoops.

If your hoop earrings have a hinged snap, latch back or lever back closure, gently pull them to open (images 4 & 5). 

Push the wire of a hoop earring down to remove it from the loop.

For wire-loop earrings, press the latch down (image 6) and remove it from the loop end (image 7).

For continuous or infinity hoops, the opening mechanism is slightly more tricky.  Find the end of the earring which slips into the other end. To open, pull the hoop open very slightly to release the post out of the hollow tube end (image 8). Then, open it further by pushing both ends in opposite direction to the sides rather than in opposite directions facing each other until you have a wide enough gap to fit your ear lobes (image 9). This is an important tip in handling infinity hoops so that their round shape is not distorted every time you put on and take them off.

Step 4: Insert the earring post from the front of your earlobe. Hold and gently pull your earlobe down with one hand to stretch it. Hold the earring in the other hand. Keep stretching as you insert the earring into the piercing.

Note: Stretching the ear lobe will make it easier to insert the post into the piercing and is a useful tip for wearing post earrings.

Step 5: Insert the hoop. Carefully guide the earring post through your earlobe piercing until it you can feel it coming through the back of your earlobes. Be gentle and avoid any force to prevent discomfort or injury.  

Note: If you are putting on clip on hoops, there is no need to stretch your earlobe. Simply position them against your earlobe where you want them to stay.

Step 6: Close the earring. Once the hoop is comfortably in place through your piercing, close the earring.

For hinged, latched and lever back closures, push the latches towards the earlobes to secure them in place.

For wire-loop earrings, gently press the latch down and insert the bent tip into the loop to close.

For infinity hoops, reverse the steps taken to open it earlier. Push the ends closer side ways, and then gently pull them in opposite direction to move them into a parallel line and help the post fit into the hollow tube at the other end of the loop. Ensure the ends are securely fit.

Step 7: Repeat for the second earring. If you're wearing a pair of hoop earrings, repeat the process for the second earring. 

Note: When properly and correctly put on, the hoop should not cause you any discomfort.  If it does, check to make sure the clasps or closures are not pinching your skin and their are not pressing to tightly against your earlobes.

​How to Remove (Step by Step)

Removal of the hoop earrings typically requires reversal of the steps taken to put on the earrings. 

Step 1: Stand in front of a mirror. Being able to see the earrings will make it a lot easier to remove them. Ensure that you have a clear view of the earring and know the closure mechanism.

Step 2: Hold the earring. Gently hold the hoop earring near your earlobe with one hand.

Note: It is important that hold the front of the earrings when pulling the latches at the back to prevent your ears from getting hurt from the pulling pressure at the back.

Step 3: Open the closure. If your hoop earrings have a hinged snap, latch back or lever back closure, carefully pull the latches away from your ear lobe with the other hand. For infinity hoops, pull the ends gently in opposite direction until you are able to remove the post from the hollow back at the end of the earring and then push is side ways to give enough space to slide it out of your earlobes. 

Step 4: Remove the hoop. Once the earring is open, gently slide the hoop out of your earlobe piercing from the front. Be careful not to force the earring, and if you encounter any resistance, check to ensure that the closure is fully open.

Step 5: Repeat for steps above for the second earring.

Learn how to make a multi strand beaded necklace with this easy to follow, step by step tutorial and video. Made using seed beads in 4 complementing shades of purple and accented with gold beads, this multi strand necklace is not just pretty, it is quick to make with simple techniques . And you can even style it in 2 different ways!

This is a short seed bead necklace. It measures 43cm (17 inches) in length from end to end. When worn, it sits right at the base of the neck. The necklace consists of 4 stands of seed beads in 4 complementing shades of purple. Each bead is 3mm in size and each color strand is accented with gold beads, also 3mm in size. The strands are held together with jump rings (via bead tip knot covers) on both ends and fastened to a lobster claw clasp.

You can wear the necklace as it is or twist the strands into a twisted bead necklace.

🧾Tools and supplies

Beading wire, seed beads, gold beads, jump rings, lobster claw clasp, bead tip know covers and crimp beads.
  • Seed beads in 4 shades of purple (approximately 150 to 180 beads in each color with each bead measuring 3mm in diameter. Each strand will require varying count of beads due to the inconsistency in the thickness of the seed beads).
  • Gold accent beads (approximately 40 to 42 beads measuring 3mm in diameter each)
  • Nylon beading wire (0.35mm thickness) in clear color (4 strands of 18 inches ((46cm) long wire)
  • 8 crimp beads
  • 3 jump rings in gold (measuring approximately 0.8mm in diameter)
  • 8 bead tips knot covers in gold (also known as crimp bead covers)
  • 1 lobster claw clasp in gold.
  • Scissors
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Measuring tape

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Cut the wire

Measure and cut 4 strands of wire measuring 18 inches (46cm) each.

Step 2: Fasten the end of the wire

Work with the cut wires one by one. On the first strand, insert a knot cover (crimp cover) (image 1).

Next, insert a crimp bead (image 2). Hold it close to the end of the wire (about 1 cm from the end) and crimp it with a plier.

Press firmly to secure it to the beading wire (image 3).

Push to check if it stays in place. If not, press again until it does not move. Cut off the excess wire (image 4).

Close the cover with the crimped bead inside (image 6). Use your fingers or a plier to press the cover.

Step 3: String the beads

Move to the opposite end of the wire. Insert it into 15 seed beads of the same color (image 7). Count to make sure the number is correct.

Next, insert a gold bead (image 8).

Repeat the process with one gold bead after every 15 seed beads until the beads cover the wire up to 16 inches (41 cm) long (image 9).

To fasten the strand, insert a bead knot cover (image 10).

Follow with a crimp bead (image 11).

Hold the wire up so that the crimp bead slides down to the top of the knot cover and the other beads on the string and there is no gap between the beads in the strand (image 13).

Using a flat nose plier, crimp the crimp bead without leaving any gap between the last bead on the strand and the knot cover. Press firmly to make sure the crimp bead is secured in place (image 14).

Step 4: Attach the strands to jump rings and the lobster clasp

Hold the jump ring in one hand (with the joint facing up) and use the flat nose plier to gently push it open (image 18). Do not press too hard with the plier or you will leave dent marks on your jump ring.

Next, you need to complete the end of the necklace. Hold the second jump ring and open in up slightly as the above step (image 22).

Insert the other ends of all the strands of beads followed by a jump ring (image 23).

Close the jump ring (image 24). And that completes the multi-strand bead necklace.

To wear the necklace, simply put it around your neck and fasten by inserting the jump ring to the clasp. Another way to wear this multi-strand necklace is to twist the strands before wearing it for a twisted bead necklace.

Options:

  • Metal color: You can make this necklace in silver by changing the gold beads, necklace clasp, and bead knots covers to silver.
  • Size of the beads: Use 2mm small beads instead of 3mm beads for a thinner necklace. You can also use 4mm or 5mm beads for a bulkier necklace.
  • Color of beads: I used solid colored seed beads, and you can always use different colors.
  • Length of the strands: If you wish to make a longer necklace, make longer strands of beads or attach a gold chain to the necklace to increase its length to your desired length.
  • Adjust the length of the bead strands - Instead of making all the strands same length, you can make them in different lengths so that they appear in 4 distinct layers when worn. If you do this, take note to insert the bead strands into the jump rings on both ends in the same order. Start with the forth and longest strand, followed by the third strand, second strand and then first strand. The first strand should be the shortest strand.

Tips:

  • Line your workspace with kitchen towel or cloth when working with beads – the cloth will prevent any stray beads that fall off your hand as you string them from bouncing or rolling off the workspace.
  • Measure the length of each strand of beads with a measuring tape instead of by count of beads - this is because the thickness of seed beads tends to be different and this can have any impact on the length of your chain.
  • Using a needle to string the beads – The nylon wire used to make this necklace is fairly stiff, and it is quite easy to string the beads directly into it. You can also use a needle to string your beads, but make sure your needle is sufficiently thin to pass through the beads. Also, if you choose to use a needle, make sure your string is slightly longer than mentioned above.

This is a beginner origami tutorial. The ducks are made using a square sheet of pre-cut origami paper measuring 15 cm by 15cm. I used a double sided paper with different color on each side, but single sided paper is all you need as the finished ducks will only show one side of the paper.

  • Single sheet of square origami paper (measuring 15cm by 15cm). This can be a single sided paper.

✂️How to Make

Step 1: Make the body

Place the paper with the colored side facing down. In this tutorial, I am using a double sided paper with blue on one side and green on the other. I am making a blue duck, so the blue side is facing down and the green side of the paper is facing up.

Fold the paper diagonally by bringing the opposite corners of the square sheet together to form a triangle. Make sure the corners and sides of the paper are aligned. Press the fold firmly and then unfold (images 1 & 2).

Repeat with the bottom left edge (image 4).

Bring the pointed end on the left to the right, stopping it at the intersection of the top and bottom corners as well as the right and left corners. Press the fold (image 6).

Lift the same pointed end and fold in back to the left, with the tip placed exactly at the fold in the step above (image 7).

Step 3: Fold the tail

Turn the paper over and fold it horizontally along the line that is already present horizontally on the paper (images 8 & 9).

Place the paper as shown. Lift the bottom tip and fold it to the left. Unfold (images 10 & 11).

Re-fold the tip as shown (image 12). Press the fold and unfold the paper (image 13).

Open up the fold made earlier (image 14).

Push the tail inside along the first set of folded lines as shown (image 15).

Push it up again along the second set of folded lines (image 16) to complete the tail.

Step 4: Bring out the head and draw the eyes

Hold the head section as shown (image 17) and gently pull it up to form the neck. Press the folds to hold it in position at an angle you prefer (image 18).

Next, hold the pointed tip and pull it up to form the beak. Press the folds to hold it in position (images 19 & 20).

Draw the eyes on both sides of the duck’s face with a black pen to complete the origami duck (image 21).

Expert tips

  • Use a square paper. The measurement of the paper must be exactly the same on all sides. I used 15cm by 15cm. Larger squares will make larger ducks and smaller ones will make smaller ducks.
  • The paper can be single sided. This is a single colored origami craft (unlike my origami koi fish here which is dual colored).  
  • Any type of paper will work for this craft so long as it can be folded and is firm enough to hold the shape. I used pre-cut origami paper, you can always make these ducks in any other craft paper or even wrapping papers.
