About the Collection

These free printable alphabet letter stencils are designed with bridges, i.e. small connecting sections that keep the inside parts of letters attached to the rest of the stencil. This makes letters such as A, B, D, O, P, and R easier to cut out and use as actual stencils without the center pieces falling away.

What Are Bridge Stencils?

Bridge stencils have small gaps or connecting sections within letters that hold the enclosed areas in place. For example, the center of an O or the enclosed area of an A stays connected to the rest of the stencil. This allows you to cut out the design and use it without separate pieces falling out.

There are 5 stencil font sets in this free printables collection, and each one has its own look:

Set 1 – Simple and uniform - This is the cleanest and most straightforward style in the collection. The letters have a thin, consistent line width throughout, including the straight lines and curves. This makes a good choice when you want simple stencil letters that are easy to read and work well for tracing, cutting, and crafts.
Set 2 – Bold and wider - This is a fatter version of the first style, with wider letter strokes and more substantial shapes. The heavier design works particularly well for large printable letter stencils, signs, posters, painting projects, and crafts where you want the letters to stand out.
Set 3 – Elegant and varied - This style has a more elegant, traditional lettering look. Instead of keeping the same thickness throughout each character, the strokes vary from thin to thick, giving the letters and numbers a more refined appearance. It has a slightly decorative feel while still working as a practical stencil font.
Set 4 – Bold decorative style - This font has strong, structured letterforms with a slightly retro, decorative feel. The shapes are bold and slightly italic, and distinctive without being overly elaborate. This style is a good choice for signs, posters, banners, labels, and craft projects where you want your lettering to have a little more personality.
Set 5 – Fancy stencil style - This is the most decorative of the five sets. It has a more distinctive, stylish appearance with decorative details and varied letter shapes, making it a good choice when you want fancy letter stencils rather than a plain block-style stencil.

Each font is available in sizes from 1 inch to 7 inches, with the sizes increasing in 1-inch increments. The measurements are based on the height of the uppercase letter A in each set. This is important to keep in mind because other letters and numbers in the same size group may not have exactly the same height.

The smaller alphabet letter, number and sign sizes are arranged to fit as many characters as possible on a single US letter page. As the sizes get larger, the pages generally contain one letter or number per page, making the larger sizes useful when you need large printable letter stencils or extra large letter stencils for bigger projects.

Every set of these free printable alphabet letter stencils includes the 26 letters of the alphabet. Each come in both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers 0 through 9, and 12 signs. The signs include the exclamation mark, at sign, hashtag, dollar sign, percentage sign, ampersand, asterisk, plus sign, question mark, slash, full stop, and comma.

The pages are available in either portrait or landscape orientation, depending on which layout gives the best fit for the particular alphabet letter, number, or sign. All of the designs are outline stencils, so they can be printed and used as patterns for a wide range of projects.

Because this collection contains a large number of pages across 5 font styles and 7 different sizes, the PDF files are organized into convenient bundles. Each font set is divided by the 5 sets and by size, with the uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and signs for the same set and size grouped into one downloadable PDF. For example, all of the 1-inch uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and signs in set 1 are included in one bundle.

This means you don't have to download separate files for one font set. Simply download the size bundle (stencil sets) you need and select the individual page you want to print.

How to Download and Print

To download: Click the PDF link at the bottom of the image. The file will open in a new window. Click the download button at the top right corner to save the PDF file.

To print: Click the same PDF link, open the file, and select the print icon at the top right corner of the page. Since the files comes in bundles, select the pages you wish to print if you do not want to print the whole bundle.

Printing Tips

Use blank white regular printer paper (US Letter) for best results.
You can also use A4 size paper but adjust the print setting to 100% scale and check the margins before printing. Do note however, that the larger alphabet letters may not print in full due to difference in paper size. Scaling the templates to fit other paper sizes will distort the measurement of the letters, numbers and signs.
The templates can be printed on both white paper and colored paper. Do note, however, that the solid black templates will not show well on dark colored paper, hence it is advisable to print on white or light colored paper.
The measurements indicated for the alphabet letters, numbers and signs are approximates only.
