How to Download and Print

About the Collection

There are two main font styles in this free printable alphabet letters and numbers collection: regular and block. Each style comes in outline and solid black versions, with size options ranging from approximately 1 inch to 8 inches, so you can choose the lettering that works best for your project.

The regular font includes 8 size sets (1 inch to 8 inch letters, numbers and signs), while the block font includes 7 (1 inch to 7 inch letters, numbers and signs). Each set increases by 1 inch, starting with the smallest at one inch and going up to the largest templates that can fit a full US letter paper size.

The size of each set is measured using the height of the uppercase letter A as the reference point. This means that other letters (including both upper case and lower case), numbers, and signs may appear noticeably larger or smaller within the same size set.

The smaller sets are arranged to fit as many letters and numbers as possible on each page. From 5 inches onwards, the templates generally have one letter or number per page, making them ideal when you need large letters or a single large number in a page.

Every set includes uppercase letters and lower case letters, along with numbers 0 to 9. You will also find common signs like the exclamation mark, alias sign, hashtag, dollar sign, percentage sign, 'and' sign, asterisk, plus sign, question mark, slash sign and comma.

The smaller templates use portrait pages, while most of the larger templates use landscape pages. A few letters, such as letters j and Q, and some signs are positioned in portrait orientation even in the larger sets so that their shapes fit comfortably on the page.

With so many different styles and combinations of font, fill, and size, the files are organized into downloadable bundles in PDF files. The regular font comes first, with the outline and solid black versions separated into their own groups and then divided by size. For example, all 1-inch regular outline letters, numbers, and signs are included in one PDF file. If you only need one letter, simply download the full set and print the page you need.

The templates are designed to be flexible. Use the smaller letters for activities that need several letters on a page, or choose the larger sizes when you need a bold heading, sign, name, or full page letter.

While the templates are free for unlimited downloads and printing, do note that they are meant for personal use only. Please do not sell them or distribute for profit.

How to Download and Print

To download: Click the PDF link at the bottom of the image. The file will open in a new window. Click the download button at the top right corner to save the PDF file.

To print: Click the same PDF link, open the file, and select the print icon at the top right corner of the page. Since the files comes in bundles, select the pages you wish to print if you do not want to print the whole bundle.

Printing Tips

Use blank white regular printer paper (US Letter) for best results.
You can also use A4 size paper but adjust the print setting to 100% scale and check the margins before printing. Do note however, that the larger alphabet letters may not print in full due to difference in paper size. Scaling the templates to fit other paper sizes will distort the measurement of the letters, numbers and signs.
The templates can be printed on both white paper and colored paper. Do note, however, that the solid black templates will not show well on dark colored paper, hence it is advisable to print on white or light colored paper.
The measurements indicated for the alphabet letters, numbers and signs are approximates only.

What Can You Do With These Free Printable Alphabet Letters and Numbers?

There are many different ways you can use these free printable alphabet letters and numbers. They are a great resource not just for educational activities, but also for many other uses.

Make signs and headings - Use the larger templates to spell out names, titles, messages, or simple signs. The solid versions are great when you want lettering that is bold and easy to see from a distance.
Create classroom displays - Turn the letters into a classroom display, bulletin board heading, alphabet chart, or word wall. You can mix sizes to create a more interesting layout.
Include in lesson plans - Print individual letters for simple letter recognition activities. Children can match uppercase and lowercase letters, identify a letter of the alphabet, or connect each letter with its corresponding sound.
