This printable turkey pattern comes in 6 free PDF pages for coloring, cutting, and pasting. The simple turkey design makes a fun Thanksgiving craft for kids, with ready-to-use color templates and outline versions for a more hands-on activity. All templates are available for instant download and printing.
About the Collection
This free printable turkey pattern collection starts with a simple full turkey design in color and black and white outline, followed by 2 cut and paste sets that break the bird into separate pieces for a more creative craft. The body, feet, and feather sections are easy to recognize and work well for kids who enjoy cutting, arranging, and putting a picture together.
In the first cut-and-paste set, the feathers stay together in a neat semicircle, so the finished turkey comes together quickly. The matching outline version gives children a chance to add their own colors before cutting out the pieces. This makes the same turkey template work nicely as both a coloring activity and a craft.
The second and last set takes the activity a step further by separating every feather. Instead of cutting out one large feather section, children can cut each feather individually and decide how to arrange them around the turkey. The result is a little more involved and gives them more freedom to create the feather pattern they want.
For both versions, the full turkey outline provides a handy base for assembling the pieces. You can use the colored pieces for a quick cut and paste turkey craft, or print the outline pages when you want coloring to be part of the activity.
All six printable pages are available as free PDF downloads for personal use. You can download and print as many copies of the turkey templates as you like, but they are not to be sold or distributed for profit.

Printing Tips
- Use blank white regular printer paper (US Letter) for best results as it is the best for the colored templates to show and for coloring the black and white templates.
- You can also use A4 size paper but adjust the paper setting on your printer and check the margins before printing.
What Can You Do With These Free Printable Turkey Pattern Templates?
- Make a turkey craft: Cut out the body, feet, and feathers and put them together to create a finished turkey. Use the full turkey outline as a base to help position and glue the pieces.
- Try a cut-and-paste activity: The colored pieces are perfect when you want a craft that can be assembled straight away without having to color first. Kids can cut out the parts and build their turkey on white paper.
- Color and assemble: Use the outline versions for a two-part activity. Kids can color the body, feet, and feathers, then cut out the pieces and put their turkey together.
- Practice cutting: The individual-feather version gives children more pieces to work with and is a good way to add a little extra cutting practice to the turkey craft.
- Make a paper bag puppet: Attach the completed turkey to a paper bag to turn the printable into a simple puppet. This can be a fun follow-up activity after the cutting and coloring are finished.
- Create Thanksgiving decorations: Display the finished turkeys on a classroom bulletin board, wall, window, or table. You could also make several and use them as decorations for a Thanksgiving party or photo booths.
- Use for group crafts: Print multiple copies for classrooms, children's groups, or family-friendly corporate events. The craft only needs basic supplies such as paper, scissors, coloring materials, and glue, so there is little extra cost involved.
