About the Heart Templates Collection
This heart shape template printable collection includes 12 different heart designs, from simple, classic outlines to more decorative shapes. Looking for a particular heart shape template size? The templates come in various sizes too. They range from smaller hearts in 1-inch sizes to extra large 10-inch hearts, depending on the design. You’ll find 2-inch and 3-inch heart templates for smaller crafts, medium heart templates measuring 4-inch and 5-inch for cards and decorations, and large heart templates measuring 6-inch, 7-inch, 8-inch and 9-inch and extra large heart template measuring 10-inch for bigger projects. Not every design comes in every size, so check the available sizes shown for each heart pattern set.
The measurements are printed on the templates and refer to the height of each heart pattern, from the topmost point to the bottommost point. The width varies depending on the design, so a 4-inch classic heart, for example, may be wider or narrower than a 4-inch elongated heart. Small hearts are arranged in multiples on a page, while larger hearts come in single heart shape template on one page .
Most templates use portrait orientation, although some of the larger designs use landscape layouts to fit on a full page. The PDFs are formatted for standard US Letter paper and can also be printed on A4 paper by selecting the correct paper size and setting the scale to 100%. See printing tips below for more details.
For heart shape template designs that are too large to fit on a single sheet, half-heart templates are provided for selected sizes. Print both halves at the same scale, align them, and join them to trace a full-size heart onto larger paper or another suitable material. Or simple print the half heart templates, and use it to trace both sizes of a heart to make a full size heart.

Printing Tips
- Use blank white paper for best results as it is the best for the outlines to show.
- The templates are designed for standard US letter size paper. You can also use A4 size paper but adjust the paper setting on your printer and check the margins before printing. To get the accurate measurement of the hearts, set the print scale to 100%. Do note however, that some larger heart templates may not print in full due to difference in US letter and A4 paper size measurement.
- For colored heart cutouts, print the outline on red, pink, yellow, or other light-colored sheet of paper. Avoid very dark paper, as the printed heart shape black outline may be difficult to see.
- If you need a specific heart size, such as a 4-inch or 5-inch heart, print at 100% or actual size. Avoid “Fit to page,” which may change the dimensions. This applies to US letter paper size as well.
- Print on card stock if you plan to reuse a heart stencil or need firm heart cutouts for a craft project.
- For the half-heart templates, print one half and place it along the folded edge of a sheet of paper. Trace around it, then cut out the shape and unfold the paper to reveal a complete, symmetrical heart. Alternatively, trace one half onto your paper, flip the template over, and trace the other side to complete the heart outline.
