Learn how to make easy origami bear with this step by step tutorial and video guide. With just a few simple folds, you can make this cute paper brown bear, complete with whole body and legs!

This is fairly easy origami tutorial. Each origami bear is made using 2 sheets of square origami papers measuring 10cm by 10cm and 15 cm by 15cm. I used a double sided paper with different color on each side so that the paws get a different color, but you can also make them with single sided paper.
Each complete folded origami bear measures 9.5cm tall and 9 cm wide.

✂️How to Make
Step 1: Make the basic folds
For the purpose of this tutorial, I am using double sided origami paper with blue on one side and red on the other.
You will need 2 sheets of paper, one measuring 10cm by 10cm to make the head and another one measuring 15cm by 15 cm to make the body (image 1). We start with the face using the 10cm square piece of paper (image 2).
Fold the paper diagonally from top left hand corner to bottom right corner (image 3). Unfold (image 4).
Repeat the diagonal fold, this time from the bottom left corner to top corner on the right. (image 5). Unfold (image 6).
Turn the paper over (image 7). Fold it vertically as shown in image 8.
Unfold the paper (image 9) and then fold it into half horizontally (image 10).
Unfold the paper and position it as shown in image 11. You will be fold the paper into a smaller square. Fold inwards along the while dotted lines (image 11). And then hold the corners to the bottom tip (image 12).
Press the top layer flat to form the square as shown in image 13. Next, lift the top layer and fold as shown in image 14.
And then fold the top as shown in image 15. Unfold and flip the square over (image 16).
Lift the side flaps and fold them to the center as shown in image 17. Unfold (image 18).
Lift the top layer of the paper and fold in along the horizontal crease to form a diamond shape. Start by folding the bottom section well (images 19 and 20).
This is how the shape should look like. You will need to flip it over (image 21).
And this is how the shape should look like after flipping (image 22).
Unfold the sides (image 23) and then lift the top layer paper to make a diamond shape similar to images 19 to 21 above (image 24).
Turn the shape around (upside down) as shown in image 25.
Step 2: Shape the bear's ears
Fold the top right section of the diamond shape as shown in image 26. And then unfold it (images 26 and 27).
Fold the section again, this time towards the crease formed in image 26 and 27 above (images 28). Unfold and lift the right section as shown in image 29.
Gently push the section along the top crease line (image 30) and the fold it down along the bottom crease (image 31).
Repeat the steps in 26 to 31 on the other side. And the lift the tip of the shape at the bottom to the top (image 32).
This is how the shape should look like (image 33). Turn the shape over.
Next, bring the bottom tip to the top (image 34). This is how the shape should look like (image 35).
Next, bring fold the ears on both sides towards the face as indicated by the black arrows (image 36). Make sure the tips extend towards the face as shown (image 37).
Step 3: Shape the face
Fold the excess tips underneath the face as shown in image 38. And the fold the bottom of the face along the black dotted lines. Unfold (image 38).
Lift the bottom tip of the face as shown (image 39).
Gently pull sides to make a square shape as shown (image 40). And then fold it down the center (image 41).
This is how the front of the origami bear face should look like (image 42). To complete it, draw the bear's nose and eyes with a pen or a thin black marker pen (image 43).
Step 4: Make the body
To make the body, use the second sheet of square paper measuring 15cm by 15cm. This time, place it on a flat surface with the back of the paper facing up. Fold the paper diagonally as shown in image 44. Unfold (image 45).
Turn the sheet of paper over. Make vertical and horizontal lines as shown in image 46. Unfold (image 47).
Turn the paper over again and form a triangle. Start with the lower section. Fold it as shown in image 48 and then press the top down to form a triangle (image 49).
Next, fold the tip of the triangle downwards as shown in image 50 and then turn it as shown in image 51.
Open up the triangle from the right side (image 52) and then gently press the bottom part to form a small triangle (image 53).
Press the folds firmly (image 54) and repeat the same at the top (image 55).
Next, fold the shape as shown in image 56 and then fold the top part as shown in image 57.
Press the folds firmly and this is how the shape should look like. Next, fold the top flap open along the black dotted line as shown in image 58.
And then, fold the tip on the right as shown by the black arrow (image 59).
This is how the shape should look like (image 60). Turn the shape as shown in image 61 and then flip it over.
Step 5: Shape the legs and attach the face
This is how the folded pattern should look like (image 62). Lift the flap at the bottom right of the shape and fold it into 2 as shown in image 63.
And then fold it back in half (image 64).
Unfold (image 65).
Place your finger as shown in image 66 and fold a diamond shape following the creases made earlier (image 67).
Fold the tip as shown in image 68 and the fold the square towards the left in the middle (image 68).
Next make small folds along all the 3 dotted lines as shown in image 69.
This is how the leg with paws should look like (image 70). Repeat on the other side to shape the other leg (image 71). Next is the top legs. Start my fold the right section into 2 as shown on image 71.
And then refold it to the right (image 72). Open up slightly as shown in image 73 and press along the creases made earlier to form a square.
Fold the tip as shown (image 74), and then fold it down as shown by the arrow.
Next, make tiny folds on the left and right, followed by the shoulder section and the then belly section as shown my the dotted lines on image 75.
Repeat the steps to complete the other side of the top leg of the origami bear (image 76).
Final step is to insert the body into the head as shown in image 77. If you want the head and body to step in place, you can use some glue to stick them together.
And that completes the super duper cute origami bear. Hope you enjoyed this easy tutorial.
